Review: Connor Farrimond

Based in North Wales, composer/producer Connor Farrimond is creating an ambient style of music that is the perfect soundtrack to life. Perfect for relaxing, focusing, or just playing in the background of your home, Farrimond's style evokes a sense of peace and calmness. Farrimond creates his unique style by combining elements of acoustic instruments with synths and electronic soundscapes. Songs like "Rare Feeling" and "Aviemore at Dusk" quickly made it to the top of fans playlists for their ethereal quality and gentle urge to slow down and bask in the moment.

Before creating his own music, Farrimond worked under the largely unknown moniker 'Cold Motorway', producing darker ambient tracks featuring spoken word poetry. With this project, working from 2012 to 2016, he released one EP ('manchester, 3:37am'), one LP ('now i understand why babies cry') and a slew of miscellaneous singles.

Retiring 'Cold Motorway' in late 2017, Farrimond took a break from music with no intent to continue.... until a track he had self-produced and self-released in 2016 ("Cigarette Smoke in Car Lights") was featured on BBC 6 Music and a new interest in his music appeared.

Since 2018, Farrimond released the EP And They Dance, and four singles. It has been rumored that Farrimond intends to end this project with a so far unconfirmed demos album spanning the last 5 years of his music, in chronological order.
